- Caspian Gull at 1430hrs. There were a large number of gulls present on the water and ice. After a few minutes, the majority were disturbed by a passer-by wanting to take photos of birds in flight. We picked up the Caspian Gull right at the back of the flock on the water at 14:45hrs and it was present to approx 15:15hrs. It was an adult like bird with a rather dull bill and strong sub-terminal markings and could well be a fourth-winter individual.

We stayed until 1605hrs by which time the number of large gulls had dwindled as they headed off to roost. We also saw an adult Yellow-legged Gull. We spoke to two birdwatchers who arrived (and departed) later in the afternoon that had seen a Caspian Gull earlier.
