Further information: Living in still or slow running water, they lead solitary lives, hiding patiently in weed or reeds waiting for their prey. When they attack their prey, its done at lightening speed. They survive on
freshwater fish such as Roach, Bream, Bleak, Rudd, Dace and Perch. They will even take Frogs, Duckling and small pike. The official British Record is a 46lb 13 oz Pike caught by R. Lewis in Llandegfedd, Wales |
