Location: Common throughout the British Isles
Habitat: Woods and hedgebanks
Further information: Common Summer flowering shrub, with clusters of small white flowers and black berries. Leaves are 4-8cm long and 2-4cm broad. Its location at Priorslee Lake is on the lakeside of the path in the NE area of the lake, a few metres west of the gate. The flowers have an
unpleasant scent, but this seems to be attractive to numerous insects including bees. The blue-black berries are eaten by a range of birds.
